ICPC HUE — Judge0 on Azure
A deployment and application-integration contribution restoring local code testing on a competitive-programming platform.
The problem
The platform needed reliable code execution after its public judging API stopped working.
My contribution
Self-hosted Judge0 on Azure and reconnected the platform’s Run Tests feature. The main ICPC HUE platform is a collaborative project led by its original maintainer.
Engineering decisions
- Use a VM for Judge0’s privileged sandbox and cgroup requirements.
- Put the service behind Nginx and TLS with a loopback-only backend port.
- Document deployment and cap requested execution memory at 512 MB.
Results & evidence
- Added provisioning, deployment and service configuration in commit 29faa94.
- Restored application test execution through the existing API route; deployment is documented in the repository.
